Dave Moyer's Old Skool Racing and Performance
|

Dave "Hap" Moyer recently started Old Skool Racing after dealing with the frustrations of not being able to find the needed
performance parts for his team's Can-Am DS90X quad. The machine which started the 2008 season as a stock ATV was down on
power and suspension and finishing in the back of the pack at all AMA District 6 speedways. After spending many hours of time
searching for the needed speed, Dave was forced to return to his racing roots and make the parts needed to allow Team 57 to be
competitive at the track.
His first creation was a new racing swing arm to help land the #57 machine smoothly and increase traction. More recently he has
performed porting and polishing of the head along with a hot new camshaft that helped propel the machine to top finishes at local
D-6 tracks. The team went from 23rd in D-6 points to an impressive 11th place in the 90-125cc youth ATV class.
Team 57 finished 5th at Sleepy Hollow Speedway and 7th at Dutchmen MX Park, running only a part time schedule.
Dave has decades of experience in all forms of racing, including driving and building ATVS and motorcycles. He was also involved
in other dirt racing teams as a driver and crew chief.
During his time as a driver he amassed many wins in both the 230-250cc quad class and on motorcycles at the former Flying
Dutchmen MX Raceway in Pine Grove PA. Back in the day, riders were forced to build their own machines and make the
performance parts needed because manufactured parts were not readily available to racers. Dave's experience is now being used
to manufacture custom and hard to find parts for not only Can-Am machines but almost any other make or model.
